Club News

Gene Owens and Adam Smith make the nice little trip down to Douglas Lake Tennesse to fish in the federation tournament.  The tournament got off to a late start due to fog rolling in.  When it cleared up a little everyone was able to take off.   Gene and Adam went to the cove that they had a lot of luck on the previous day.  This is were gene caught a 4.1 lbs moster.  They also got three more out of there but only one was a keeper.  Gene ended up catching one more keeper later in the day giving them a total of 6lbs 3.5oz and putting them in 25th place.  The bassin Bandits would like to congratulate Wayne Burchett and Raymond Secrest for winning the federation tournament on Douglas.

Claytor Lake Night tournament

The next tournament will be the one and only tournament on Philpott Resivior.  This could be the best tournament of the year.  It does hold our record for biggest winning weight at 12 lbs.   We should be getting to the lake during or just after the spawn.  It should be a great day down at Philpott.

Bandit Tip of the Week

Topwater Fishing Tip:

Always have a follow-up bait lure for missed strikes (such as grubs, gitzits and worms). Sometimes a bass will strike at a topwater several times without connecting. When this happens, a plastic worm or jig immediately cast to the same area will often hook the fish.
